Creating Impactful Retail Displays with Mondelez’s Adopt. Adapt. Create Philosophy

Mondelez, a global leader in FMCG products, embraces a unique philosophy when it comes to designing displays: Adopt. Adapt. Create. This approach ensures they maximise existing designs when possible, adapt proven solutions when needed, and create bespoke concepts when no alternative fits.

When tasked with designing a temporary display for Cadbury’s iconic products in retail supermarkets, this philosophy guided the process. The result was a visually striking, cost-effective solution that delivered on all fronts.

A Challenge Worth Solving

Mondelez required a temporary display that:

  • Maximised visibility for Cadbury products in busy supermarket aisles.
  • Combined the practical benefits of standard designs with bespoke features to create a unique retail presence.
  • Was quick to manufacture and assemble, whilst staying within budget.

Designing the Solution

Working closely with Total Marketing Support (TMS) and Mondelez, we created a display that exemplified their Adopt. Adapt. Create approach.

Adopt:

The foundation of the display featured two standard FSDUs (Free-Standing Display Units). These tried-and-tested designs provided a stable, easy-to-assemble base for the project.

Adapt:

To elevate the display and reflect Cadbury’s connection to Professional Women’s Football, we added a custom ‘theatre kit’. This included vibrant branding elements, eye-catching LEDs, and bespoke shapes that enhanced visual impact while tying in with the campaign theme.

Create:

The finished display combined the best of both worlds. Practical and efficient, it incorporated tailored theatrical elements to create an engaging, high-impact presence that could not be ignored in the retail space, but negated the need to design everything from scratch.
